If a person who was initially normal after a head injury cannot be awakened, or is extremely difficult to awaken, then the person may have a more serious head injury and should be evaluated by a doctor. Anyone showing any of the signs of concussion should be seen by a doctor. If there is sufficient force to cause the brain to bounce against the rigid bones of the skull, then there is potential for injury.
If your concussion was sustained during athletic activity, stop play and sit it out. Your brain needs time to properly heal, so rest is key. Your child was treated for a concussion, a mild brain injury that can result when the head hits an object, or a moving object strikes the head.
