Jumper cables – Look for extra-long jumper cables. Connection of the positive terminal to the negative terminal will not charge the dead battery and may, in fact, give you a miniature fireworks display. Note: you need to keep the formerly dead car running for about 15 minutes to make sure it’s fully charged. Once the cables are securely in place, start the boosting car’s engine.

Leave the newly jumped car running for at least the next 20-30 minutes. If you don’t have cables, or know anyone that does, don’t hesitate to call a Los Angeles tow services company or any other dead battery service. Begin by looking at the battery in the car. Have a smoke. Assuming the “dead” car turns over, remove the jumper cables in reverse order.
